History

Tea Party, a nonprofit magazine founded in 1995 by David T. Pang, began as a hand-stapled zine in Oakland, California. In 2000, Tea Party’s vision shifted to that of a culturally diverse arts and culture magazine with a strong commitment to emerging and traditionally underrepresented writers and artists, including a special emphasis on multiculturalism and social justice. Today, in its 13th year of publication, Tea Party’s Bay Area readership and appeal has expanded to reach a national audience in major cities across the U.S. and in Canada!
